North Seattle College is a fully accredited public college, located in the vibrant city of Seattle on a beautiful campus just 20 minutes from downtown.

North is one of the top colleges in the state of Washington—with over 8500 students and over 1000 international students from 50 different countries and every region of the world. The college has been providing classes to international students for over 30 years. 

Studying with experienced instructors at Northyou have the choice to complete high school, take intensive English or earn a degree to prepare for transfer to an American 4-year college or university, or apply for admission to one of our BAS degree programs. You can also choose from a number of innovative technical programs. The college has an excellent academic reputation, and a high percentage of students transfer and complete their bachelor's degrees.

Help from Dedicated IP Staff 

North has an International Programs office dedicated to helping you succeed in your studies and adjust smoothly to your life in Seattle. The office has full-time staff ready to help you with anything you need.

International Programs advisors will provide an orientation and information about special enrollment needs, registration, cultural adjustment, academic progress, transfer and immigration issues. The staff can also assist you with personal concerns or refer you to the appropriate services or agencies for assistance with medical issues, legal rights and responsibilities, financial matters including U.S. income taxes, and preparation to return home. There is also a housing coordinator to help you find the homestay, apartment or roommate that is perfect for you.  

Living in Seattle

Seattle is a beautiful Pacific Northwest city, situated between Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains and the Pacific Ocean to the west and Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountain Range to the east. Mt. Rainier stands several hours south of the city.

Home to Microsoft, Starbucks, Boeing and Amazon.com, Seattle has been voted the most dynamic city by Fortune and Money magazines and the most educated city (2006). 

The Mariners baseball team, the Seahawks football team, the Sounders soccer team, and the Seattle Storm basketball team make their homes here. Seattle is a busy seaport on the Pacific Rim. The city is proud of its diverse culture, with hundreds of restaurants and entertainment of all kinds including art, music, dance, theater and film.



The climate in Seattle is moderate year-round, with temperatures ranging from 36-50 degrees F in the winter and 55-80 degrees F in summer. There are about 5.2 inches of rainfall/month in the winter and 1 inch/month during the summer.

Transportation

You can travel around Seattle easily by foot, bicycle, car or via the Metro bus system. Metro is convenient, safe and easy to use. A number of bus lines connect to North's campus from all over the city.
